The Executive Magistrate of South Salmara-Mankachar district has asked police to conduct inquiry into a complaint lodged against Badruddin Ajmal, MP and president of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) on a complaint lodged by a reporter of ETV Bharat.
In an order (No.438 dated 31.12.2018), the Executive Magistrate on the basis of a petition filed before the court by the ETV Bharat journalist, Roushanlal Kabir Mondal, issued an order to in-charge of Kharuabandha police outpost to conduct an inquiry as well as to maintain peace between the two parties.
The ETV Bharat reporter in his petition alleged that he was misbehaved and threatened by the AIUDF president and Dhubri MP, Ajmal during a media briefing on December 26 at an Auditorium at Hatsingimari .
The journalist mentioned in the petition that the AIUDF became furious when he asked him whether he was going to support a Congress government or a BJP government at the Centre.
The reporter alleged that he was forced to beg pardon of the AIUDF chief by his supporters immediately after the incident and he complied to save his life and get out of the auditorium safe.
The reporter while requesting the court of the Executive Magistrate to facilitate police inquiry on the basis of his petition, also pleaded for maintenance of peace between the two parties as he was facing threat to his life after the incident.
