One suspected Bangladeshi national identified as Kayesuddin Talukdar was detained by the Border Security Force (BSF) in Karimganja district of Assam on Thursday.
BSF officials informed that Kayesuddin had married an Assamese woman and had applied for the inclusion of his name in the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

“Kayesuddin, a Bangladeshi national, had married an Assamese woman and applied for the inclusion of his name in the NRC using fake documents,” the BSF said.
“However, his name was not included in the NRC,” the BSF added.
“We detained him while he was returning from Bangladesh,” they said.
