Six persons including two women under Udalguri police station were put under quarantine at the Harisinga quarantine centre on Friday.

The persons, belonging to the same family and residents of Jangalborigaon village, were sent to quarantine following their close stay with a woman who died at the GMCH after a prolonged illness.

The illness, however, was not relative to COVID-19.

The family members informed that their relative died on Thursday at the GMCH and they stayed with the deceased in the hospital since April 26 to Wednesday.

After learning about the family, the Udalguri district administration decided to put them at the quarantine centre as part of safety steps and existing rules.

The district administration informed that the persons would be provided with all facilities as per rules including fruits at the centre.
