Failing to publish a manifesto for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, the ruling BJP on Saturday released a two-paged appeal to urge the people to vote for the party, highlighting the BJP government’s initiative taken in Assam since 2014.

The saffron party thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating development projects in Assam since the BJP led government came to power at the Centre and taking steps towards making India a super power.

Apart from highlighting the surgical strike to avenge the Pulwama attack, the appeal also highlighted the steps of the BJP government at the Centre to confer Bharat Ratna to Late Bhupen Hazarika, capacity enhancement of the Numaligarh Refinery Limited and for completing the three major bridge projects in Assam in the last few years.

The party also claimed credit for taking steps against the multi-crore cash for job scam of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) and arresting of several bureaucrats for their involvement in corruption. Apart from this the party has also highlighted the smart fencing project under taken in Dhubri district of Assam to seal the Indo-Bangladesh border.

The party’s appeal also avoided the issues of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill against which the State had witnessed series of protests across all districts in past few months.

BJP’s national president Amit Shah had on Friday said that the party had already identified the illegal foreigners living in the state and that in next five years all the illegal foreigners will be deported back to their country of origin.

The Congress had recently released its manifesto in Delhi and also in Assam and said that the party will repeal the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill if the party comes to power at the Centre. The Congress had also assured to take up steps to stop recurring problems of flood and erosion that have been affecting the State.
