Assam government has decided to regularize the jobs of municipal workers of the Dibrugarh Municipal Board.
Regularization of jobs has been a long-standing demand of the All Assam Municipal Employees’ Union (AAMEU).

Dibrugarh unit of the AAMEU said that the government has taken a decision on Wednesday to fulfill their demand.

The state government is likely to declare its decision on the issue on February 12.

The organization thanked the state government for addressing their long-pending demand.
“Since 1971 our organization has been pressing the government to fulfill our various demands, the prime being regularization of our jobs and bring retired employees under the pension scheme,” said a member of AAMEU.
The municipal workers said that the state government should provide all facilities as directed by the Industrial Tribunal and labour court.
