The Dibrugarh district administration is closely monitoring the situation after a sudden increase in COVID19 positive cases in the district in the last two days.
Altogether 15 new COVID19 cases have been detected in the district in the last two days.

Before that, the graph of positive cases was gradually coming down since October 2020.
On Tuesday, a teacher of a private school in Dibrugarh tested positive for COVID19.
On contact tracing of the teacher, two students of the same school were found positive for the virus.

“After the contact tracing, 5 members of a single family and 3 of another family tested positive in Dibrugarh,” said Dr Nabajyoti Gogoi, district surveillance officer, Dibrugarh.
Dr Gogoi said the students didn’t attend classes after they tested positive.
He appealed to everyone not to panic but to follow the COVID19 protocols and maintain social distancing.
Assam so far has recorded a total of 2,17,256 COVID19 positive cases including 2,14,490 discharged cases.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 1,086 patients in Assam so far.
