The herculean task was achieved by a specialized team led by Sootea legislator Padma Hazarika.

The operation was launched by the Forest department engaging six domestic elephants.

The team led by Hazarika began the search operation for Laden early Monday morning at the Rongjuli forest in the district.

Finally the team got the better of Laden.

Sources claimed that veterinarians who had accompanied the Forest department team could manage to tranquilize Laden.

Notably, this wild pachyderm has been creating havoc along vast areas on the district destroying cropland and households of villagers.

It had also killed several human beings over the last few years.
