The junior doctors in Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) on Wednesday staged a protest against the assault on agitating doctors by Delhi Police.
After a peaceful protest, all the junior doctors at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital expressed strong resentment against the brutal treatment meted out to Delhi doctors by the Delhi Police.

The junior doctors of GMCH held their strike from 8 am to 3 pm on Wednesday.
The Delhi Police detained the doctors while they were taking out a rally to the Supreme Court in protest against the delay in the NEET-PG counselling.
Meanwhile, the resident doctors of several major government hospitals including Chafdarjung Hospital have decided to continue their agitation till their demands are met.

The junior doctors in Delhi demand that the Delhi Police apologise in writing over the face-off on Sunday and that their strike is “still on”.
A media report quoted senior Delhi Police officer BS Yadav as saying: “We have told the doctors that they cannot continue the strike. Yellow alert has been issued regarding Covid in Delhi and under the DDMA Act, crowds are not allowed.”

He also said: “We have requested the doctors to end the strike due to Corona.”
