Three pick-up trucks loaded with at least 30 bulls were seized in Goalpara’s Ranjuli on Wednesday.
A police official said that the pick-up trucks were intercepted during routine checking by the police.
The vehicles were checked as they had inputs about some illegal cattle being transported.
On checking the vehicles, the police said that they found three trucks loading with suspected illegal cattle heads.

On questioning the drivers, the police found that there were no documents of the cattle and it was ascertained that these cattle were being transported illegally with an aim of smuggling.
The drivers were immediately detained and legal proceedings have been initiated.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Nagaon Police in central Assam arrested 6 persons including a constable on charges of illegal transportation of cattle.

According to reports, the cattle-laden trucks and the car were seized by the police at Boghat in the district.
Nagaon Police in a tweet informed that a constable, who was involved in facilitating the transportation, has been arrested.
Nagaon Police said a Home Guard, who was also involved in the act but is currently absconding, will be arrested soon.
