Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi wished the people of the State, particularly those belonging to the Buddhist Community on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.
In a message, Prof Mukhi said, “My warm greetings to all sections of the people especially those belong to Buddhist community on the holy occasion of Buddha Purnima.”
“Lord Buddha was one of the greatest spiritual religious teachers of the world and his teachings are universal and ever-relevant,” his statement read.
The Governor also said Buddha’s teachings have the inherent strength to awaken people to reality and make them introspect themselves.
It enlightens oneself to the path of spiritual enrichment and attain Nirvana by making the right kind of living and thinking.
In the current wake of COVID-19, the Governor also urged upon all to avoid community worship and be in their homes and pray for a healthy tomorrow.
