A young footballer has gone missing after he went out on Sunday to take a bath in river Dhansiri in Assam’s Golaghat district.
The missing footballer has been identified as Gobin Nayak, a resident of Shantipur in Golaghat district.
According to sources, footballer Gobin Nayak went to take bath in river Dhansiri along with five other friends at noon on Sunday.
“Gobin Nayak went missing while taking bath in river Dhansiri,” sources said.
As the youth went missing, the locals informed the police about the incident and the police quickly intimated the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel.
A team of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel rushed to the incident site.
The SDRF personnel started a search operation in the river.
However, the body is yet to be fished out.
Gobin Nayak was a football trainer of the Golaghat District Sports Association.
He participated in inter-district football competition.
Nayak is known as an expert goalkeeper.
