The second Mising Autonomous Council (MAC) Super League Football tournament kicked off in Gogamukh along Assam’s Lakhimpur-Dhemaji boundary on Monday afternoon.
The tournament began at the newly developed playground of Gogamukh College aided by the development fund of MAC.

Constructed at the cost of Rs 1.5 crores by the MAC, the playground has modern facilities with draining out of water to keep the filed playable during inclement weather conditions.
An invitational inaugural football match was played on that occasion which was inaugurated by Sunil Pegu, chairman, MAC in presence with Prabhat Basuamatary, executive councilor, MAC.
Earlier the welcome address of the inaugural ceremony was delivered by Paramananda Chayengiya, chief executive councillor, MAC in presence of Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, Dhemaji and Jonai MLAs Dr Ranoj Pegu and Bhuban Pegu respectively.

The Director of Sports Authority of India, Northeast, Subash Basumatary attended the function as special guest.
The inaugural match was played between Barhungka Club of Kokrajhar and Todo FC of Arunachal Pradesh in which the Kokrajahr team won 5-1.
The rest of the tournament will be played at Rajeev Gandhi Rural Sports Complex at Mohori Camp near Gogamukh besides the Gogamukh College playground, organizers said.
