On the day when Assam’s COVID19 tally stands at 38,407, a total of 1,248 patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from various hospitals across the state on Thursday.
Sharing the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Thursday said: “Discharge Alert. 1248 patients have been discharged today.”
“The consistency of our good recovery rate is a reflection of continuous efforts & dedication of our teams. Gratitude!” he added.

With the release of 1,248 patients, the total number of patients, who have been discharged from the hospitals in Assam, increased to 29,080 on Thursday.
Assam currently has 9,230 active COVID19 patients while 3 cases have migrated from the state.
On Thursday, Assam registered 2,112 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s total tally to 38,407.
Sharing the news of the detection of more COVID19 cases, health minister Sarma in a tweet on Thursday night said the new positive cases were confirmed out of 41,028 tests conducted in the state in the last 24 hours.
The health minister informed that while Kamrup Metro district has reported 283 cases, Nagaon district has reported 211 cases, Kamrup Rural district has reported 210 cases and Sonitpur district has reported a total of 132 positive cases.
The minister said the positivity rate of Assam is 5.14%.
On Thursday two more positive patients died of infection, taking the state’s COVID19 death toll to 96.
Health minister Sarma said the COVID19 victims have been identified as 57-year-old Aolepshi Jamir from Kamrup Metro district and 45-year-old Swapan Saha from Darrang district.
