The COVID19 tally in Manipur reached 2,505 on Thursday while the total active and recovered cases stand at 829 and 1,672 respectively.

On Thursday, three more COVID19 patients died of infections in the state.

In the last 24 hours, 47 new COVID19 positive cases, including 37 males and 10 females, were confirmed at various Virus Research & Diagnosis Laboratories in the state.

While 4 cases were confirmed at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), 30 cases were confirmed at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS-30), 2 cases were confirmed at Churachandpur, 3 other cases were confirmed at Babina diagnosis centre.

Three positive cases were confirmed at Imphal West RAT and 5 other cases were confirmed at the Shija hospital RAT.

This was informed by Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, additional director and spokesperson of the state health department in a statement issued on Thursday night.

Out of the total 47 new cases, 18 are security personnel.

The infected patients belong to the districts of Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Kangpokpi, Senapati, Churachandpur and Tengnoupal.

All, except 2 from Thoubal and 13 from Imphal West, are returnees from other states.

They are being shifted to the COVID care facilities, the statement of the COVID 19 common control centre said.

In the past 24 hours, 19 persons were discharged from COVID care centres at Meitram in Imphal West, Ukhrul, Kakching and Kamjong and RD Wing, after they were found COVID19 free on RT PCR test.

With the latest development, the cumulative number of positive cases in the state is 2,505.

The total numbers of active and recovered cases are 829 and 1672 respectively, it stated.

The recovery rate is 66.90 per cent.

Meanwhile, three more deaths were reported due to co-morbid health conditions and COVID19 in the state, taking the total COVID 19 related death tally to four on Thursday, officials said.

On Wednesday, the state reported its first death related to COVID 19 at RIMS hospital.
