Three escort personnel of the additional director general of police (ADGP), Manipur, T Guite, have tested positive for COVID19 positive.

While the 3 escort personnel tested positive for COVID19, 7 other escort personnel of the IPS officer have tested negative for the virus.

ADGP (Operations), E. Priyokumar Singh, in a letter to the director of MPTC, Pangeri said ADGP Guite’s 3 escort personnel tested positive and 7 of his escort personnel tested negative for COVID19 on July 28.

Singh in the letter, issued on Wednesday, to the director of MPTC, Pangeri said “it is mandatory to accommodate the remaining 7 (seven) negative escort personnel at Quarantine Centre, MPTC, Pangeri for mandatory quarantine period immediate” and make arrangement for the same.

Singh also urged the director of MPTC, Pangeri to drop the 7 negative escort personnel of ADGP Guite in unit vehicle at the Quarantine Centre, MPTC, Pangeri immediately.

Singh also urged the director of MPTC, Pangeri to instruct the escort personnel to carry bedding and other required items for the mandatory period at Pangeri accordingly.

Manipur on Wednesday recorded its biggest single-day tally of 141 COVID19 cases including 24 females, bringing the state’s total infection tally to 2,458.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 2,458.

The numbers of active and recovered cases are 805 and 1653 respectively.
