The Udalguri district administration is now fully ready to conduct the Lok Sabha elections in its three legislative segments: Panery, Udalguri and Mazbat in the second phase on April 18 next.

The district administration has particularly taken interest in special facilities for more than 1000 persons with disabilities (PwDs) voters.

Talking to this correspondent, Nilakhi Baishya, assistant commissioner of Udalguri district administration said that the Election department of the district will provide two vehicles each in three legislative segments during the poll day and the concerned booth level officers (BLO) will be instructed to get connected with the concerned vehicles so that the PwD voters could be given transport support in the hour of need.

That apart, there will be provision of wheelchairs in the polling stations where these facilities would be sought.It is to be noted that there are a total of 581 polling stations in Udalguri Election District which include 201 in Panery LAC, 193 in Udalguri LAC and 187 in Mazbat LAC.
