Arunachal Pradesh government on Sunday appointed 15 nodal officers to address the issues faced by the stranded students and workers in the rest of the country amid the nationwide lockdown.

“Whereas during the countrywide COVID-19 lockdown, many students and workers from Arunachal Pradesh stranded outside the state are facing several issues pertaining to racial discrimination, ration supplies, eviction from PG/Rental accommodations etc,” the government said in a statement.

“And whereas in order to address the grievances and to ensure safety and security of the students and workers of Arunachal Pradesh stranded outside the state, it is felt expedient to designate officers to attend to all the issues and redress the same,” it added.

Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu asked the stranded people to contact the nodal officers that have been appointed state-wise to look into their grievances.

IPS officer Sagar Preet Hooda (9436040701) has been appointed as the nodal officer for Haryana and Punjab.

IAS officers Prashant Lokhande (9818774152) and NiharikaRai (9436040064) have been appointed as the nodal officers for Maharashtra and Karnataka respectively.

IAS officer Swapnil Naik (9422057757) has been appointed as the nodal officer for Gujarat and Lakshawadeep respectively.

IAS officer Romil Baniya (6009047069) has been appointed as the nodal officer for Uttarkhand, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

IRS officer NT Glow (9485231064) has been appointed as the nodal officer for West Bengal and Tripura.

IRS officer Anirudh S Singh (9712574717) has been appointed as the nodal officer for Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh.

IPS officer Pranav Tayal (9436040034) has been appointed as the nodal officer for Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya and Sikkim.
