Itanagar Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner, Prince Dhawan on Saturday launched a special enrolment camp for transport federation members for enlisting them in three Central and State government schemes – Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Yojana and Chief Minister’s Aarogya Arunachal Yojana.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner urged upon all the members associated with the transport industry and those of the All Arunachal Pradesh Transport Federation (AAPPTF) in particular to enroll themselves into the aforementioned schemes and further also encourage others to do the same.
He requested the members present and the transport federation to disseminate the information regarding such schemes to others so that the message reaches to even the farthest and remotest areas.
Dhawan stressed that with a meagre premium, these insurance schemes can be of extreme help in cases of untoward incidents and hospitalization. He also appealed to the denizens to get themselves enrolled through such camps which have been set up for the convenience of the people.
Earlier, AAPPTF president, Dobing Sonam while highlighting the benefits of the schemes to the public informed that more than 1300 enrolment was registered combining all the three schemes in the earlier camp that was held at Itanagar.
Aiming for a higher enrolment at Naharlagun, Sonam also urged the citizens to come forward and get themselves registered. He also informed that the camp will continue for two more days.
Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana is available to people between 18 and 70 years of age with bank accounts. It has an annual premium of Rs 12 exclusive of taxes. In case of accidental death or full disability, the payment to the nominee will be Rs two lakh and in case of partial permanent disability the amount is Rs one lakh.
Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana is available to people between 18 and 50 years of age with bank accounts. It has an annual premium of Rs 330. In case of death due to any cause, the payment to the nominee will be Rs two lakh.
Chief Minister’s Aarogya Arunachal Yojana is a state health insurance scheme with coverage up to Rs five lakhs for secondary and tertiary care.
The special enrollment camp which would continue for two more days at Takar Complex in Itanagar is being organized by the Capital Complex district administration in association with the AAPPTF and the State Bank of India.
