Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Saturday said the Imphal-Mandalay flight will transform the economy of the Northeast.
N Biren also said it will strengthen regional friendship and that the Act East policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will become more visible and effective.

The inaugural chartered flight arrived at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal around 11.30 am from Mandalay in Myanmar.
It was welcomed with the traditional water cannon salute.
Myanmar’s private carrier Air KBZ started its chartered flight service to boost connectivity between the two nations.
The Air KBZ flight carried around 72 passengers from Myanmar.
The return flight departed from Imphal with 48 passengers.
As per the memorandum signed between Air KBZ Myanmar and Imphal-based tour operator KB Enterprises on July 3, the flight service will be operated twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The two way ticket fares for the Imphal-Mandalay flight services start from Rs 14,000.
