Dimapur walk

Team Clean Dimapur (TCD) conducted a ‘Walk for Clean Dimapur’ on Saturday commemorating with its first foundation day.

The walk with a social purpose was organized in collaboration with Dimapur Municipal Corporation (DMC).

The walk began from PWD junction and went through Dhobinalla-Nyamo Lotha Road-Fly Over to culminate at the Super Market.

The walk was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among citizens about keeping their surroundings clean and healthy.

Students from various schools and colleges also participated in huge numbers displaying placards.

Representatives from different civil societies of Dimapur also participated in the walk encouraging and exhorting the young participants.

TCD is a group of like-minded citizens from all walks of life and belonging to all age groups which engages in voluntary services for the people of Dimapur city.

It has also recently installed over 70 dustbins in and around the city, conducted seminars in schools and colleges and planted around a thousand tree saplings.

The team also conducts cleanliness drives twice a month to spread awareness and to instil a sense of belonging and responsibility to the place they live in among the residents.

In a press note issued by the TCD, the organization stated that it was every individual’s duty to keep one’s environment clean.
