Shiv Sena in its editorial mouthpiece Saamana has speculated that coronavirus might have been produced due to China’s attempts to produce biological weapons of mass destruction.
“China’s biological laboratory is in Wuhan province where coronavirus was found. The world community must research whether this virus was produced in attempts to develop biological weapons of mega destruction,” the editorial stated.

The party also claimed that it would be ‘challenging’ to evacuate Indians who had to remain in China following the massive outbreak of the deadly coronavirus in the country.

“In the wake of threat from the coronavirus, several countries including India have put a ban on flights from and to China. This step might be justified but many countrymen are stuck in China. To bring them back is a challenge,” it said.
Shiv Sena also advised that special health teams should be send to the northeastern states which shares borders with China.

“It cannot be ruled out the possibility of the spread of the virus in northeastern states adjoining China. The need of the hour is to deploy special health teams in these states. The virus spread fast in China because it has a huge and dense population and its possibility of spreading fast in India cannot be ruled out,” it added.
Meanwhile, Assam health minister Pijush Hazarika on Friday said that a medical team has been deployed at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport to check passengers.

Two ambulances are kept outside the airport for emergency and an isolated ward has also been kept ready at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Hazarika added.
