Nagaland Governor PB Acharya, has appealed to the people of the state to lend support to Earth Hour by switching off non essential lights on March 24, 2018 from 8.30-9.30pm.

Earth Hour, an annual worldwide event organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), would be observed on March 24, 2018 from 8.30- 9.30pm.

The event encourages individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights for one hour.

Starting as a symbolic lights out event in Sydney in 2007, Earth Hour is now the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment, inspiring millions of people to take action for our planet and nature.

Governor PB Acharya also urged people to create a healthy and environmentally safe world by playing one’s role in reducing carbon footprint in personal life and work place.

Further, the governor appealed to the people to log onto to the official website to know how they can adopt simple practices in their day to day lives that are environment friendly.
