Three persons were seriously injured during a clash that took place in between supporters of two political parties in Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh as the state goes to Lok Sabha and Assembly polls simultaneously on Thursday.
As per media reports, the clash took place outside a polling booth at Pipsorang under Tali Assembly constituency.
However, despite the clash, polling continued and no polling personnel were injured, an NDTV report says quoting an election official.
The report quoted Director General of Police (DGP) SBK Singh as saying that the injured were evacuated by a chopper.
The report quoted district electoral officer Santosh Kumar Rai as saying: “I got the information via wireless message and details are awaited.”

The names of the political parties who supporters were involved in the clash.
Meanwhile, the voter turnout in Aeunachal Pradesh was 40.34 per cent till 1 pm, said additional chief electoral officer of the state Kangki Darang.
According to the report, Arunachal Pradesh governor BD Mishra and his wife Neelam Mishra exercised their franchise at a polling station at Government Secondary School in Itanagar while chief minister Pema Khandu cast his vote at a polling station at Government Higher Secondary School at Momba in Tawang district, bordering China.
The report quoted deputy chief electoral officer Liken Koyu as saying that there were reports of EVMs developing technical snags from several districts of the Himalayan state but the election authorities replaced the machines immediately and voting was not disturbed.
On Thursday, polling held in 57 Assembly seats and two Lok Sabha constituencies.
The two Lok Sabha constituencies in the state are – Arunachal West and Arunachal East.
