Tajdar Junaid originally from Assam songwriter, composer and producer has been nominated for the Best Background Score in Jio Filmfare Awards. He composed the score for Adil Hussain starrer ‘Mukti Bhawan’.
31-year-old Junaid has been creating waves in the country’s Indie music scene for quite sometime. Currently based in Kolkata, his songs are a mix of folk and other sounds. His first album What Colour Is Your Raindrop is a self-portrait of the sights and sounds that has made him into what he is today. His usual accompaniment is the Charango, a small ten stringed lute that lends his music a strangely calming resonance.
His song Dastaan was picked for the movie The President by legendary Iranian Film-maker Mohsen Makhmalbaf in 2017. He is not only a singer, composer and producer but he can also play multiple instruments.
He also recently released a video Yadon Ki Pari, which features Urdu Poetry by his father Junaid Ahmad.
