In order to campaign for party candidates ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, Congress president Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Assam and Nagaland on Wednesday and participate in several election rallies.

According to information, during his two-day visit to the two northeastern states, beginning on Wednesday, the All India Congress Committee (AICC)) president will address four election rallies in Lakhimpur, Kaliabor, Dibrugarh, Karimganj and Silchar parliamentary constituencies.

In Nagaland Rahul Gandhi will campaign for party candidate K.L. Chishi contesting the lone parliamentary seat at Dimapur.

On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting at Dimapur District Sports Stadium in Nagaland at 10:45 am.

After that he will travel to Golaghat district in Assam where he will address an election rally at Bokakhat Sports Complex Ground at 12:45.

At Bokakhat, the Congress president will campaign for party candidate from Kaliabor Lok Sabha constituency and sitting MP Gaurav Gogoi, who has sought re-election, at around 1-15 pm.

After Bokakhat, Congress president Rahul Gandhi will fly to address a public meeting in Lakhimpur.

Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address an election rally the Govt. Higher Secondary School Ground in North Lakhimpur town at 3 pm where he will campaign for party candidate for Lakhimpur parliamentary seat Anil Borgohain.

He will also address another rally at Dibrugarh around 3-25 pm and then will head towards Shillong, the state capital of Meghalaya.

It has been learnt that Rahul Gandhi will spend the night at Shillong and on Thursday, he will address an election rally at Karimganj in Barak Valley at around 12-15 pm.

On the same day at around 1-15 pm, the Congress president is scheduled to address another rally at Silchar in Cachar district.

As per media reports, security has been beefed up ahead of Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s visit.
