Sikkim National Law University is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Vice-Chancellor in 2026.

Remuneration : The emoluments and other conditions of service shall be as prescribed by the applicable Statutes/Regulations of SNLU, the Sikkim National Law University Act, 2018 and applicable UGC/Government norms, as amended from time to time.
Age : Preferably not more than 65 years of age as on the closing date of receipt of applications of this
advertisement.
Eligibility Criteria :
1. The Vice Chancellor shall be an accomplished academician and an outstanding scholar in law or an eminent jurist.
2. The candidate shall possess the highest level of competence, integrity, morals and institutional commitment.
3. The candidate shall be a distinguished academician with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as Professor in a University; OR ten (10) years of experience in a reputed research and/or academic administrative organisation, with proof of demonstrated academic leadership, in accordance with Regulation 7.3(i) of the UGC Regulations, 2018.
4. Candidates from the field of Law and allied/interdisciplinary fields relevant to the objectives of SNLU are particularly expected to demonstrate substantial academic/scholarly contribution and leadership in legal education, research, policy, judicial studies or allied areas.
5. The Search-cum-Selection Committee may assess equivalence of senior-level experience in a reputed research and/or academic administrative organisation strictly in accordance with the applicable UGC Regulations and the Act.
