The Covid19 task force of Zoram Medical College (ZMC) on Wednesday suggested an early diagnosis of Covid19 to avoid more fatalities.
Nodal officer PC Lalramenga said the recent study conducted by the task force observed that early diagnosis can effectively prevent a fatality.
A person, who develops symptoms of Covid19 or is suspected to be infected with Covid19 should go for an early test, he said.
“Although the death rate is low despite rising cases, the number of patients admitted at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) can’t decline. Our utmost concern is to save life,” he said.
Dr Lalnunmawii Sailo, an Associate Professor at Anaesthesiology department and ICU in-charge also said many patients, who have been admitted at the ICU were those, who initially ignore the disease as a common flu.
Some of the patients could not be saved because of late diagnosis, she said.
