At least five persons have sustained bullet injuries during a clash between workers of two political leaders in Manipur on Manipur.
The incident has been reported from Imphal East district in Manipur.

According to reports, guns were fired during the clash, resulting in injuries to five persons.
Condition of one of the injured persons is reported to be critical. The person has been identified as 47-year-old Abdul Malik.
The deadly clash took place between the workers and followers of two leaders of the BJP – L Sanjoy and T Shyamkumar.

While, T Shyamkumar is a former MLA from Andro Assembly constituency, who had won the 2017 Manipur elections on Congress ticket, but later defected to the ruling BJP.
Shyamkumar was disqualified by Manipur Speaker last year disqualified as a member of the Assembly for defection.
On the other hand, L Sanjoy is expected to be BJP’s candidate for the 2022 Manipur Assembly elections.
Both the leaders had organised public meetings on Monday at nearby locations. That is when workers and followers of both the leaders came front to front resulting in the clash.
