Imphal: The Naga People’s Organisation (NPO) has announced a public rally at the Senapati District Headquarters on October 2, 2026, to protest the recent killing of three Naga brothers and the injury of another person.
According to a public notice issued by the organisation, the rally will begin at 11 am and is intended to express collective grief over the September 26 incident at Kailenjang village and demand justice for the victims.
The NPO has appealed to residents of Senapati district to participate in the demonstration wearing traditional attire as a mark of solidarity with the victims and support for the organisation’s demands.
The organisation has attributed the suspected attack to Kuki militants, although the allegation remains subject to investigation.
The planned rally comes days after the NPO observed a 12-hour total shutdown across Senapati district on September 28 following the fatal shooting.
The NPO has called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident, speedy legal action against those responsible and justice for the victims.
