Tripura government has decided to reopen schools in the state for classes 9 to 12 from August tomorrow (Wednesday).

The state government said that schools will reopen with adherence to COVID-19 protocols by the students and the educational institutes.

According to the notification released by the State School Education Department, schools should be maintaining proper social distancing.

If schools do not have adequate space, they should run classes in double shifts. 50% of students will be allowed in each shift.

The detailed SOP to prevent the spread of COVID-19 has already been released by the Tripura government.

The government has already allowed the reopening of hostels and colleges in the state from Wednesday.

However, colleges and hostels will be allowed to resume classes by following the strict SOP released by Higher Education Director NC Sharma.

According to the official notice, the government decided to reopen schools after the decline in COVID-19 cases in the state and consider the students’ learning loss.

The decision to reopen Tripura schools has been taken after approval of the State Disaster Management Authority.

Further, according to the notification released, schools functioning in double shifts should make a roster for students.

There should be 50% students in each class and the attendance of teachers should be 100%.

Since schools have not resumed classes 1 to 5, teachers of those classes will be deployed for Classes 6 to 8 in order to implement the Notun Disha campaign, initiated by the state government in the schools.

The initiative aims to improve the academic strength of students in elementary education.

All Headmasters/ Headmistress of schools has been asked to maintain COVID-19 protocols such as wearing masks, using hand sanitizers, maintaining appropriate social distancing.
