The Manipur government has clamped night curfew across the state till April 30 in view of the alarming rise in Covid-19 cases in the state.
The night curfew that was imposed on Friday with immediate effect will last from 8 pm to 4 am.
The official order on the curfew stated that the number of infections has increased exponentially in the last fortnight necessitating many states to impose partial lockdown and night curfew to reduce unnecessary movement and intermingling of people.

The curfew will not affect the movement of vehicles carrying essential goods and services, hospitals, pharmacies, fire services, power supply and people on Covid-19 duty in the state.
A total of 31 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Manipur on Friday, though no death was reported.
However, those testing positive mostly comprise of people arriving in the state from affected areas.
The total number of positive cases has reached 29,610 in the state, of which 165 are active cases.
The disease has claimed 376 lives in the state so far.
