Former Defence Minister and senior Congress leader AK Anthony has said that India, at present, is facing a two front war-like situation.
AK Anthony said that while India is tackling continuous threat from Pakistan, on the other hand the Country is also being bullied militarily by China.
“For the first time in 73 years of Independence, India is facing a two front war-like situation – one from Pakistan and the other from China,” said Congress veteran AK Anthony.
AK Anthony said that China has been ramping up its infrastructural capability across the entire length of India-China border.
AK Anthony said, “China has become more belligerent by building infrastructure and military mobilisation across the India-China border mainly in Eastern Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.”
Senior Congress leader and former defence minister AK Antony on Sunday further slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over disengagement agreement between India and China in areas of Galwan Valley and Pangong Tso Lake.
AK Anthony alleged that disengagement in both the Galwan Valley and Pangong Tso Lake areas and was a ‘surrender’ of India’s rights.

“Both disengagements in Galwan and Pangong Tso are a surrender. It is essentially a surrender of areas traditionally controlled by India,” AK Anthony alleged.
“Disengagement and buffer zone means surrender of our land at the moment,” AK Anthony alleged.
“Our armed forces used to patrol up to Finger 8, while the Chinese army used to patrol till Finger 4. Finger 4-8 was disputed, but our LAC was Finger 8. Now after disengagement, we have vacated Kailash range and this disengagement has happened at the cost of national security,” AK Anthony added.
The former UPA-era Defence Minister further lashed out at the Centre for a ‘meagre’ increase in defence budget this year.
“The increase in defence budget this year is meagre and insignificant and a betrayal to the country,” AK Anthony said.
