Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday joined in the Me-Dam-Me-Phi celebrations in Sivasagar district.
Me-Dam-Me-Phi is an important festival of the Tai Ahom community of Assam.
During the festival worship members of the community worship their ancestors and makes offerings to Go and their forefathers.
The Sivasagar unit of the All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU) had organized the celebrations in the district.
Dhekiajuli BJP MLA Ashok Singhal was also present on the occasion.
