Tripura tourism minister Pranjit Singha Roy on Saturday said that the state government wants to promote adventure tourism in the state.
The minister said this while inaugurating the adventure tourism fair at the Vivekananda ground in Agartala on Saturday morning.
Pranjit Singha Roy said, “Tripura has plenty of places that can be developed into major tourist spots.”
“Our state is endowed with many natural resources and it is our duty is to utilize them in promoting the tourism industry,” he said.

The minister could be spotted enjoying a ride on a water scooter during the tourism fair.
The tourism minister also said that the state has already developed eco-tourism and spiritual tourism and is gradually developing the tea-tourism sector.
The Tripura government keen on developing adventure tourism is upgrading several tourist destinations across the state.
It was supposed to launch adventure tourism last year but had to halt the process in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The tourism industry is now incomplete without adventure tourism. The main source of attractions for tourists is an adventure,” Roy said.
The arrival of tourists to the state resumed from October last year and the government now aims to initiate measures to revive the tourism sector that has been hit hard by the ongoing pandemic.
Officials of the state tourism department were also present on the occasion.
