The BJP Government in Tripura has helped the farmers of the State to export their produces.

This was said by Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb, while addressing a gathering of farmers.

“Two of the produces of the farmers of Tripura – pineapple and lemon, are being exported and are famous not only in India but also abroad,” said Chief Minister Biplab Deb.

He claimed that the farmers of Tripura are earning crores of rupees by exporting pineapples and lemons.

“Since the BJP Government came to power in Tripura, it took all possible steps to export the produces of the farmers of the State,” Biplab Deb said.

Deb further said that each of the over 2 lakh farmers’ families in Tripura received Rs 6 thousand annually under the PM-KISAN scheme.

The Tripura Chief Minister went on to say that the BJP Government in the State, after assuming power, has removed the system of middleman, which “affected the interests of the farmers”.

“We started purchasing rice from the farmers’ at their doorsteps providing the minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 1,750 per quintal,” he said.

Taking a dig at the previous Left-Front Government in Tripura, Biplab Deb said, “The Left always played politics with the farmers. They misled the farmers.”

Notably, this statement from the Tripura Chief Minister comes at a time when a mass farmers’ agitation is underway at the borders of Delhi.

Thousands of protestors from Punjab and Haryana have been staging demonstration at the borders of Delhi demanding repealing of the new farm laws.

Notably, several Left Front-backed organisations have also been holding massive rallies in different parts of Tripura to express their solidarity with the protesting farmers in the Delhi border.
