But a day later on December 16, Pradyot was shifted to the Bethany Hospital in Shillong.

Reason – ‘Deplorable’ health infrastructure at the NEIGRIHMS, which was beyond imagination of the Tripura Royal scion.

Northeast Now has accessed few images from a ‘deluxe room’ at the NEIGRIHMS that completely ‘exposes’ the ‘pathetic’ condition of infrastructure at this premier health institute of the Northeast.

In these images one can clearly see how the roofs and walls of one of the ‘deluxe rooms’ is infested with fungus.

In another photograph accessed by Northeast Now, one can also see how ‘deplorable’ is the condition of the washrooms in these ‘deluxe rooms’

Notably, NEIGRIHMS boasts of being one of the premier health institutes for cardiology and other ailments in the entire Northeast.

People from across the Northeast visit the hospital to get treated for different ailments.

Moreover, NEIGRIHMS is also one of the main hospitals in Meghalaya, where COVID-19 testing and treatment is done.

Most of the patients tested positive for COVID-19 in the two Khasi Hills districts of Meghalaya are being treated at the NEIGRIHMS.

One can only imagine, if this is the condition of the ‘deluxe rooms’ of the hospital, how the infrastructure is in the other wards of the hospital.

Although, there has been no official communique from the NEIGRIHMS authority thus far in regards to the matter, Northeast Now tried to get a version from the Institute director – but till the filing of this report, he could not be reached.
