He also visited the residence of deceased Srikanta Das at Dashda in Kanchanpur.
The Tripura Chief Minister handed over a Rs 5-lakh cheque to each of the families of the deceased persons.

Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma and Tribal Welfare Minister Mevar Kumar Jamtia also accompanied Biplab Deb during his visit.
Notably, violence broke out at Panisagar following an indefinite strike called by the joint Movement Committee (JMC) in Kanchanpur sub-division from November 16.
On November 21, the JMC blocked the National Highway at Panisagar, forcing the security personnel to open fire to control the ‘unruly mob’.
While, Srikanta Das, a member of JMC died at the spot after receiving a bullet injury, fireman Biswajit Debbarma was critically injured after the mob tried to lynch him. Later, he succumbed to his injuries at the Agartala Medical College Hospital.

The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister had a word with the family members of Biswajit Debbarma and Srikant Das and consoled them.
