Tripura chief minister, Biplab Kumar Deb said that his government will carry out a surgical strike on terrorists if they do not release the civilians they have kidnapped from different parts of the state.
Known for making strange statements, Deb has again made many wonder what he intends to do.
Deb also said his government has information about these extremists and will not spare them for kidnapping people for ransom.
The chief minister said this at a martyr’s memorial programme held on Saturday in Kalyanpur of Khowai district.

The programme was held to pay tribute to 24 people killed in a terrorist attack in Kalyanpur in 1996.
“Our government knows how to carry out surgical strikes as similar strikes were conducted by the Modi government in Pakistan,” said Biplab Deb.
“We will not carry out surgical strikes on the terrorists if they do not release the civilians in their captive soon,” he said.
The chief minister said that extremist forces are trying to destabilize peace in Tripura and he asked the extremists to give up arms and return to the mainstream.
