Senior Assam cop and former Karimganj SP Kumar Sanjit Krishna, who has been accused to have been involved with the infamous Assam Police SI examination paper leak scam, has surrendered before the police at DGP office on Thursday.
The tainted policeman is most likely to be taken into the custody by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Assam Police.
Once arrested, Krishna will be presented before the District & Sessions Judge Court, Kamrup (Metro).
Krishna was named in the paper leak scam in the confession made by another accused Rubul Hazarika alias Rubul Ali.
Ali, in his confession, said that the question papers were leaked from the Karimganj SP office itself.
He further informed that he was allowed to take photographs of the question papers against a sum of Rs 40 lakh.
Ali later sent the photographs to tainted BJP leader Diban Deka via WhatsApp.
Krishna was being interrogated by the CID since Monday, however, he fled “mysteriously” from his official quarter on Tuesday and he was “missing” since then.
Krishna was interrogated separately by senior CID officials and ADGP (L&O) GP Singh.
Sources close to the police have informed Northeast Now that the police have already seized two mobile handsets from Krishna’s possession.
