One Rupam Das, an accused in the Assam Police SI examination paper leak scam, was arrested on Saturday from Bongaigaon.
The team of police who arrested Das informed that he is a loco pilot in the Northeast Frontier Railway.
The team also recovered Rs 3 crore cash from the residence of one Tarani Banik- Das’ father-in-law.
The cash was recovered from Banik’s house in Borigaon in Abhyapuri.
The cash was recovered after a mammoth search operation of 8 hours.

Earlier on the day, police recovered unaccounted cash of more than Rs 2 crore from the residence of another railway employee in Barpeta district.
The employee has been identified as Debraj Das.
