New Delhi : Radhika Ganesh, a cultural political activist and feminist, asked people to seek her help by contacting her if they face any trouble from police while travelling for the protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in Delhi on October 10.
Ganesh, in a post on Instagram, claimed that they have ‘a network of activists and lawyers’ who can help people quickly find ‘local help.’
She asked people to send her a Direct Message (DM) on Instagram for help if necessary.
“Travelling to Delhi for the peaceful protest on the 10th? If the police stop, detain, or arrest you anywhere on the way, in any state, DM me,” she wrote in a post on Instagram
“We are a network of activists and lawyers, and we will find you local legal help quickly. You are not on your own,” she added.
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) lashed out at the central government for cancelling all mails and express trains scheduled to reach New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations between 4 am and 2 pm on October 10.
In a series of posts on X, the CJP party heavily came down on the government saying that the ‘Modi Govt is so scared of a peaceful protest, they’re taking measures that were not taken even during the Emergency.’
“Instead of acting against Gyanesh Kumar, they’d rather choke the National Capital,” they added.
The move to cancel trains comes just ahead of the massive protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on October 10
“Shut metros. Shut trains. Shut roads. Shut everything. But we will NOT stop! No matter what they do, we’ll reach Jantar Mantar tomorrow,” the party wrote in a post on X
CJP claimed that the ‘National Capital is FORTIFIED’ and the ‘government is treating a peaceful protest like a WAR and its own citizens like ENEMIES’
It questioned whether we are on the ‘verge of an Emergency’?
CJP had earlier also criticized the government after its National Org Co-Incharge Deepak Baliyan has been placed under house arrest.
The party claimed that over 40 police personnel in civil dress are present at his home and after detaining him from his home at night, the Alwar Police have once again arrived at his residence.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police on Friday asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to reduce train frequency and close entry and exit gates at 57 metro stations from 9 pm on October 9 until the situation normalises on October 10, citing proposed protests at Jantar Mantar and other locations and the possibility of unruly crowds moving towards sensitive areas.
