Meghalaya government has fixed July 29 as the last date for submitting admission forms for Class XI in all streams and the declaration of the first list and waiting list on July 31.
The results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations were declared on July 20 with an overall pass percentage of only 50.31.
“For Class XI in all streams, the last date for submission of forms is 29.7.2020 and declaration of first list and waiting list is 31.7.2020,” Principal (education), Donald P Wahlang said in an advisory issued on Thursday.
The education department has issued the advisory for strict compliance by all institutions for admission process to various courses in the State for admission into Higher Secondary Schools in the academic year 2020-2021.
The second phase of admissions will open again from August 8 onwards and the same modalities ensuring all protocols and maintaining social distancing norms should be strictly followed.
Payment of fees to the respective streams/courses will open for 7 days from the date of announcement of result for admission.
For the urban areas, all admission forms/prospectus will be issued online and it should be free of cost and for rural areas, forms/prospectus will be issued via blended option of online and offline mode and it should be free of cost.
For submission of forms, a blended option of online and off-line submission will be adopted. Online submissions can be made as soon as documents are available with the applicants.
For offline submissions, institutions shall collect the admission forms in a staggered manner as well as limiting the number of persons up to a maximum of only 200 students per day.
Separate sessions may be designed if there is a rush in the submission of forms.
In case of unanticipated rush, institutions may also devise innovative methods to collect the admission forms like using alphabetical order of names of student applicants (A-D, E-H, etc. range can vary accordingly) or by the method of segregation of gender of the students submitting the forms and by allotting respective time schedule during working hours.
Payment of fees with respect to the institutions should only be made via online or offline mode using various online or off-line bank transfer/payment portals authorized by RBI.
Institutions should provide dedicated bank account numbers along with other details such as bank name, branch, IFSC code either to be mentioned in the application form or displayed on the website.
The payment of fees can be made offline in cases where the students are from remote areas (only) where this mode is the only viable option.
Cash/cheque payment may be accepted in such areas after ensuring that all protocols and social distancing norms are strictly followed.
