With the demise of one more patient in the state on Saturday, the COVID19 death toll in Tripura increased to two.
Confirming the news, Tripura chief minister in a tweet on Saturday said the COVID19 patient, who was a resident of Khowai district, died at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC).
“Unfortunately, 1 COVID19 patient from Khowai has died in AGMC today,” chief minister Deb tweeted.
Meanwhile, Tripura on Saturday registered 32 new COVID19 positive cases.
Confirming the detection of the new positive cases in the state, chief minister Deb on Saturday said a total of 1,808 samples were tested for COVID19 on the day, out of which 32 were found positive for the virus.
Chief minister Deb informed that 12 positive cases were reported from West Tripura district while 5 cases were reported from Sepahijala and 5 other positive cases were reported from Gomati district.
North Tripura district has reported 4 COVID19 positive cases while Khowai has reported 2 positive cases.
Unokoti district has reported 2 COVID19 positive cases while one each case has been reported from Dhalai and South Tripura districts.
Out of 1808 samples tested for COVID-19, 3??2?? people found POSITIVE.

The COVID19 positive cases in India crossed the 8 lakh-mark with 27,114 cases and 519 deaths reported in the last 24 hours across the country.
The total number of positive cases in the country now stand at 8,20,916 including 2,2123 fatalities, 2,83,407 active cases, and 5,15,386 recoveries, according to data released by the Union health ministry.
India is the third worst-hit nation, behind the United States and Brazil.
