Father Stephen Maverly, Vice Chancellor of the Assam Don Bosco University, Tepesia, has been awarded the prestigious Lifetime Acheivement Award by The Confederation of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
Father Maverly has been honoured at the fourth International Conference on Environment and Ecology held at Gauhati University on Monday.
He has been recognized for his outstanding contribution to the field of education.
Under his leadership, Assam Don Bosco University has had tremendous transformation in the recent years in terms of academics, infrastructure and overall development.
The University has also managed to secure itself in the list of Universities preferred by students from the Northeast and even abroad in a short period of time.
The international award is given out by the Confederation as per the recommendations of the International Association of Educators for World Peace (affiliated to UN, ECOSOC, DPI and UNICEF).
The Academic Council for Massive Open Online Course at the Consortium for Educational Communication set up by the UGC has also nominated Father Maverly as a member of the council.
