Along with some other parts of India, Tripura is also celebrating Saraswati Puja this year with religious fervour.

This year Saraswati Puja is celebrated on January 29 and 30.

Tripura government has announced two-day holiday in State for Saraswati Puja.

Educational institutions, offices, and clubs have been celebrating this puja with much gaiety.

In many household also Saraswati Puja is being celebrated.

Saraswati is the goddess of education, art, culture and music.

Mainly the students organize or celebrate this puja for the better performance in educational field.

Due to Saraswati Puja, the prices of vegetables and fruits in all the markets have gone up.

In spite of high market price, people are buying fruits and vegetables to worship Goddess Saraswati.

The clay idols of Saraswati are being sold at a minimum rate of Rs 200.

Flowers, fruits and sweets are placed as ‘prasad’ to Goddess Saraswati.

Families throughout cities, towns and villages are seen enjoying the festivities of Saraswati Puja on both the days.

To receive the goddess’s blessings, students also place their books, pens and musical instruments before the idol for the entire day.
