The State Bank of India (SBI) has invited online applications for the recruitment of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales).
Eligible Indian citizens may apply online for the clerical vacancies from January 3-26, 2020.
The total number of vacant posts is 8,000.
According to the advertisement, the candidates can apply for vacancies in one state only.
Candidates can appear for the test only once under the recruitment project.
The candidates applying for vacancies of a particular state should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in the specified opted local language of that state (mentioned in the given vacancy table against each state/UT).
The test for knowledge of specified opted local language will be conducted as a part of the selection process. It will be conducted after qualifying the online main examination but before joining the bank.
Candidates who fail to qualify the language test will not be offered an appointment. Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test.
There is no provision for Inter Circle Transfer/Inter-State Transfer for Junior Associates to be recruited.
As per the advertisement available on the SBI website – https://sbi.co.in – preliminary examination will be conducted tentatively in the month of February/ March 2020 and the Main Examination will be conducted tentatively on April 19, 2020.

The candidate will have to opt for one language at the time of the online application.
The reservation under various categories will be as per prevailing government guidelines.
There will be reservation for PWD/XS/DXS candidates.
Out of the total vacancies, 4.5% of posts are reserved for Disabled Ex-servicemen and dependents of Servicemen killed in action, clubbed together.
The first priority in the matter of appointment will be given to the Disabled Ex-Servicemen and second priority will be given to dependents of defense personnel killed in action or severely disabled (with over 50% disability attributable to Defence services).
Eligibility Criteria:
Age limit: As on January 1, 2020, the candidate must not below 20 years and not above 28 years.
The candidates must have been born not earlier than January 2, 1992, and not later than January 1, 2000 (both days inclusive).
However, there is upper age relaxation for different categories as per rules.
Essential academic qualifications: As on January 1, 2020, the candidate should be Graduate in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government.
Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before January 1, 2020.
Those who are in the final year/ semester of their graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if provisionally selected, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before January 1, 2020.
Probation period: Selected candidates will be governed by the terms and conditions of the Service Regulations of the Bank in force at the time of joining.
Call letters for examination: Preliminary Examination: The candidates should download their call letter and an “acquaint yourself booklet” by entering their registration number and password/date of birth from the Bank’s website from February 11, 2020, onwards (Tentatively).
Main Examination: Candidates qualified for the main examination would be able to download their call letter from the Bank’s website (following the instructions available on the screen) from 2nd week of April 2020 onwards (Tentatively).
No hard copy of the call letter (preliminary/ main)/acquaints yourself booklet will be sent by post.
