Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday recommended the nature lovers of the nation to visit the north-eastern region.
While addressing the nation in his monthly broadcast ‘Mann-Ki-Baat’, Modi said people with a love for dense forests, waterfalls and other places abounded with attractive natural scenery will find the Northeast to be a perfect destination.
He also said when nature lovers visit north-eastern region it would help in the development of its economy and also would promote ‘Ek Bharat Sresth Bharat’, an unique initiative of the Modi government which aims to promote the spirit of national integration.
“I have always liked being in the Himalayas. But, if someone likes nature I would strongly urge you all to go to India’s Northeast,” Modi said.
He also thanked the people of Assam for the warm hospitality they showed to the pilgrims who came from across India to attend the Brahmaputra Pushkar Festival in Guwahati recently.
“I want to appreciate the people of Assam for their warm hospitality,” PM Modi said in his talk.
“They gave a warm welcome to pilgrims coming from all over the country. The organizers took special care of cleanliness and ensured plastic-free zones,” Modi added.
