Humsafar Express has been introduced with all the modern facilities designed and operated by Indian Railways.

Its services include long haul routes.

Informing about it, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on its Twitter handle said, “The Railways have rationalised the fare structure of Humsafar Express to provide more comfortable and affordable services to its users.”

The first service was inaugurated on December 16, 2016.

Currently, 35 pairs (70 trains) Humsafar trains are running over Indian Railways.

As per the initiative, to provide better and comfortable rail service on lower fare, the fare structure of Humsafar train has been rationalized.

As per the comparative fare structure of Humsafar trains both pre-revised and post-revised, the pre-revised base fare is 1.15 times of the base fare of Superfast Mail or Express trains.

The post-revised base fare is 1.5 times of the base fare of Mail or Express trains.

The pre-revised variation of fare is – first 50 per cent on normal Humsafar fare, subsequent 50 per cent on variable fare subject to maximum 1.5 times.

The post-revised variation of fare is – fixed fare as 1.5 times of the base fare of Mail or Express trains.

The pre-revised Tatkal charges are 1.5 times of Humsafar base fare.

The post-revised Tatkal charges are 1.3 times of Humsafar base fare subject to maximum and minimum limit of Tatkal charges.

The applicable class for pre-revised is only 3 AC and for post-revised along with 3AC, Sleeper class can also be attached.

These will be “implemented with effect from Advance reservation period/No booking date,” said a railway press statement.

Beside, Sleeper class coach has been attached in Anand Vihar-Allahabad Humsafar Express with effect from Saturday (September 13).

It may be noted that the base fair of Humsafar trains is 1.15 times of base fare of normal Mail/Express trains.
