Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) B D Mishra and chief minister Pema Khandu met Border Road Organization (BRO), additional director general (East), P K H Singh in Guwahati on Monday.

The duo discussed with him the reconnaissance of soil conditions and bottlenecks of the strategic road Miao-Vijaynagar undertaken up by the BRO.

The Governor, during the meeting emphasized that all the roads, particularly strategic ones must be implemented within the stipulated time frame.

“Quality of work and its durability should be maintained at all costs with due technical care for the severe weather conditions in Arunachal Pradesh,” Mishra said.

Chief minister Khandu, who also holds the additional portfolio of environment and forests minister also briefed the BRO ADG regarding the construction of M V Road for the protection of the treasured flora and fauna in the Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve.

He also called for speedy construction of the Miao-Vijaynagar Road, which is of strategic importance to the national integrity.

ADG Singh said that expert BRO officers with the seniors of Rural Works department will be carrying out the survey works for the road.

He said a team of officers from BRO will collect soil samples from the ground during the recce for laboratory analysis to decide upon the technology to be used in the road construction.

Reconnaissance of the M V road will commence from September 12, the ADG informed.
