Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is campaigning in the Southern State of Kerala, on Monday turned into an Aikido instructor during an interaction with college students.
Rahul Gandhi taught a bunch of college girls a ‘principle’ of the martial arts form on the request of a student.
Rahul Gandhi is black-belt holder of the Japanese martial art form – Aikido.
Rahul Gandhi demonstrated how one woman can resist being pushed by some seven others by using their energy to hold the ground.
He helped the young woman get her posture correct and showed her the technique of the Aikido principle.
“I’m going to show you the Congress party now,” Rahul Gandhi quipped as he called on for more students to push the woman, in position on her knees, to resist the attack.
He compared her to his party, apparently referring to the many hurdles Congress faces from other parties.
Later, Rahul Gandhi said that “women are more powerful than men”.
“There is a problem. Women do not understand their power. They do not understand how their power works and where their power comes from. And that is the whole point of empowerment,” Rahul Gandhi said.
“Society wants to convince you that you are less powerful. Don’t buy it. No woman in this room should be under the illusion that they are less powerful,” Rahul Gandhi told the girl students.
Women in India have to get strength from inside. For that to happen you must understand the way that you are being pushed, understand the forces that are hurting you, and then position yourself properly.: Shri @RahulGandhi#SwagathamRahulGandhi pic.twitter.com/UqvD7tCtUf
